We collect the following categories of personal information:
All information is collected directly from users or generated through use of the Platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Create and manage your account
- Match your business with relevant contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Send you notifications about matches, messages, and platform updates
- Improve our matching algorithm and platform features
- Comply with legal obligations
- Prevent fraud and ensure platform security
- Respond to privacy requests and exercise legal rights
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. We may share information in the following circumstances:
- With other users — Homeowner accounts are not visible to businesses, except that a business you message sees your first name and your message. Your business profile information (company name, type, location, specialties) is visible to matched businesses on the Platform. When you reveal another business's contact details, that business can see that your business revealed them and when. Paid members may be listed ahead of other equally relevant members in search results; your plan itself is not shown to other users. Your work photos, reviews you write, community posts and crew messages are visible to other signed-in members where you share them. Reviews show your company name.
- Businesses and homeowners — if you have a business account, homeowners with Consumer Pro can see your business phone number and contact email on your profile (the public email of your claimed directory listing, or your account email if there is none). You can turn this off in My Profile with “Show my contact to homeowners”. Your website stays visible.
- When you message a business — if you use Consumer Pro, the business sees your first name and your message. They do not see your other details unless you write them in the message.
- With service providers — we use these providers, who process data only on our behalf: Supabase (database, file storage and sign-in), Vercel (hosting and privacy-friendly page statistics without cookies), Stripe (payments; we never see card numbers), Resend (email delivery), Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service (delivering push notifications to the device token you allow), Mapbox (map display; your device loads map tiles from Mapbox and Mapbox receives basic usage statistics from the map, and the pins we show are ZIP code areas, not exact addresses), Cloudflare Turnstile (spam protection on sign-up and sign-in), and Upstash (rate limiting to stop abuse).
- For legal compliance — if required by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental authority
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice provided to users
- With your consent — for any other purpose with your explicit consent
4. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights:
- Right to Know — request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the third parties with whom we share it
- Right to Access — obtain a copy of your personal information in a portable format
- Right to Delete — request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions
- Right to Correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing — we do not sell or share personal information as defined under California law
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information — VendorsAxis does not knowingly collect sensitive personal information for purposes that would trigger California's right to limit use
- Right to Non-Discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at legal@vendorsaxis.com. We may verify your identity before responding to your request. California residents may also designate an authorized agent to submit requests on their behalf. We will respond to verified requests within 45 days as required by California law.
5. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not directed to individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
6. Data Retention
We will delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable timeframe following account deletion, except where retention is required or permitted by law, including for billing records, fraud prevention, arbitration evidence, or abuse reports.
Messages you exchanged with businesses through Consumer Pro are deleted or anonymised when you delete your account. Reports sent to us are kept as evidence.
You can delete your account at any time in the app or on the website under Profile > Danger Zone > Delete My Account. Deletion removes your profile, photos, posts and saved searches; messages and reviews you wrote are replaced with “This message was deleted.” so the other person's conversation stays readable. Reports about content are kept for safety. See vendorsaxis.com/delete-account.
7. Push Notifications
If you allow notifications, we store a device token from Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (and, on iPhone, Apple's push service) to send you alerts about matches, messages and saved searches. You can turn them off at any time in your phone's settings or under Profile > Alerts. We do not use notifications for advertising.
8. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure authentication, and role-based access controls. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
9. Do Not Track
The Platform currently does not respond to browser Do Not Track signals as required under California's Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA). If this changes, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.
10. No Professional Advice
Information provided through the Platform is for informational and networking purposes only and should not be relied upon as legal, engineering, architectural, safety, financial, insurance, licensing, or professional advice of any kind. Always consult qualified professionals before entering into any business relationship or undertaking any construction project.
11. Third-Party Links
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on the Platform with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
13. Electronic Communications Consent
By creating an account, you consent to receive notices, disclosures, and communications from us electronically, including by email. This consent applies to all agreements, notices, disclosures, and other communications that we may be required to provide to you in writing.
